Do you need to find out more about how Cherish Care can help you have a better day?

Below are some of the most common questions we are asked about our personal care services. If we haven’t answered your question please call us or email.

Q. What home care services does Cherish Care offer?
We aim to support you with whatever you need to be able to continue living in your own home, from helping you to wash and dress to getting out and about in your local community. For more details of our services please see How we Help.

Q. My mother is coming home from hospital tomorrow, when can you start?
We will always carefully consider our capacity to support you to ensure that we are neither compromising our new commitment to you or the care we are providing to our other clients. We know just how important it is to get personal care absolutely right – if we are unable to fully meet your needs we will be honest. At Cherish Care we firmly believe that clients must never be let down.

Q. Do you cover my area?
Please check our map which shows the area we cover.

Q. Who pays for the care?
This very much depends on your particular circumstances. Please refer to our personal care funding section.

Q. Can I request a female/male carer only?
We have both female and male carers so we are able to accommodate this request. However, we can offer more flexibility if you are happy to accept either a female or male carer.

Q. Do you provide live-in care?
Cherish Care provides care from 7.00am to 10.00pm only. However, we can put you in touch with other local care providers that offer this service and may be able to help.

Q. Do you do 15-minute visits?
We do not feel we can offer a caring and quality service in such a short time so our minimum visit is 30 minutes.

Q. Are your staff trained?
Yes, all Cherish Care staff have, or are working towards, a Level 2 or higher in Health and Social Care. We also provide additional training in our specialist areas of Dementia and End of Life Care.

Q. Are your staff police checked?
Yes, all members of staff are subject to a background check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), which includes checks of police records, before starting work with our clients.

Q. Can you take me to a hospital appointment?
Yes, we will always do our best to accommodate any extra visits you need for one-off appointments, whether you need to attend a hospital appointment or simply want to visit the hairdressers.

Q. How do you know what care I will need?
When you contact Cherish Care a member of our Care Management Team will visit you in your home for a ‘coffee chat’ to find out what is important to you. We offer a wide variety of services and together we’ll work out how we can best help you.

Q. Do you provide respite care?
Yes, we do. Family carers need and deserve a break sometimes. We’ll come in and support your loved one for the hours that you need us so that you can enjoy some time out.

Q. Do you only care for the elderly?
No, we are happy to help any adult who needs some support to live at home.
